New Voters New Politics

On the evening of 27th April 2010 14 social action organisations came together for a joint event to debate with senior figures from all the major political parties.

The event brought together over 200 student campaigners who covered a diverse range of topics around social justice, the environment, trust in politics and international development.

From the Labour party we hosted Hilary Benn, from the Conservatives James Brokenshire and Simon Hughes from the Liberal Democrats.

In 2011 we are encouraging all students and young people to get involved in the democratic process again and vote on the AV referendum that is taking place in May 5th.
